Safety Note: 
Swimming is one of the main attractions of Covelong Beach. The shimmering blue sea of Covelong Beach is fairly safe for swimming and you can wear skimpy swimsuit on the stretch adjacent to the Fisherman’s Cove resort. If you want to enjoy catamaran ride you must wear life jacket.
Where it is: 
Covelong is located 36 km south of Chennai and 22 km north of Mammallapuram.
Journey Route: 
Covelong is 40 minutes drive from Chennai, Chennai and Chengalpattu both are the railheads and Chennai is the nearest airport.

Covelong Beach

Covelong Beach is a pristine beach of Tamil Nadu which is located on the shore of the Bay of Bengal. It is the best beach stretch along the beach belt of Mammallapuram or Mahabalipuram. Mammallapuram is one of the best heritage site of the world. So tourist visiting Mammallpuram can have a beach holiday as well as a heritage site visit in the same trip.  Covelong beach is considered as one of the famous private beach of India maintained by the Fisherman’s Cove which is a beautiful beach resort with all amenities that one may ask for.  Fishertman's Cove  is built on the remaining of an old Dutch fort. There is an old church  close to the resort. Enjoy the roaring sound of the Bay of Bengal and whispering music of the swaying palms while you are lying on a deck chair with your favorite book. This is the beach of Tamil Nadu which offers you full solitude to enjoy and rejuvenate yourself.  It is 36 km south of Chennai and 23 km north of the temple city of Mammallapuram. The beach is backed by a fishing village and you will find fisherman and their daily activities when you visit the Covelong Beach.
