Safety Note: 
Swimming is safe at Digha. But swimming is not advisable during high tide and during monsoon and bad weather as the sea remains rough during this period. There are no lifeguards. So, stay close to the shore.
Where it is: 
Digha is located by the Bay of Bengal and 185 km south of Kolkata.
Journey Route: 
Digha is 4.5 hrs drive from Kolkata. Kolkata is the nearest airport.
Tourist Season: 
From November to February.

Sunset Digha

Digha is an 8 km long  flat white sandy beach located along the coast line of the Bay of Bengal. Digha Beach is the proud of west Bengal. Located 165 km south east of the cosmopolitan city of   Kolkata this beach is a perfect holiday destination and obviously number one choice of the travel loving Kolkata citizens. Almost 70 % of the Indian tourists are from west Bengal hence it is easily imaginable that how much busy Digha Beach is.  Digha is visited round the year by the nature loving people. Digha was called as the Brighton of the East by the British ruler of the Indian subcontinent. The specialty of Digha Beach is that here the sea is quite and shallow which is ideal for swimming and diving.
There are     two other tiny beaches near Digha. One is Shankarpur Beach and another is Junput Beach. If you are solitude hungry then it will be worthwhile for you to visit these two beaches.
